The philosophy of Child-Centered Play Therapy:
Child-Centered Play Therapy is not an eclectic approach and is not technique-driven. Rather, it is an attitude, a philosophy and a way of being with children.
We believe that play is the natural world of a child and is essential for a healthy development. As such, play is the ideal environment in which to meet and communicate with a child who needs help. Here at ChildPlayWorks, we believe in a child’s ability to be constructively self-directing and to direct their own therapeutic process.
The team at ChildPlayWorks has developed a comprehensive training programme which is focused on the Child-Centered Play Therapy approach for working therapeutically with children. Our training programme is part-time and can be completed within 3 years. It consists of 3 consecutive Stages and includes 4 face-to-face workshop intensives as well as online learning.
